About Me

auto accessories to protect the interior of your car

My husband and I have been going back and forth about whether to buy our teenage son a car so that he doesn't have to drive mine, but in the end, we decided that it was not in our budget at this time. I knew that if I wanted to keep my car looking as nice inside that I was going to have to spend a little money on some accessories. I wanted to find some seat covers, new floor mats and what ever else I could find to protect my car from the damage a teenage boy can do while driving. Visit my site to find out what accessories I found to protect the interior of my car.

2 Signs It's Time to Replace Your Car Stereo System

If you enjoy listening to music while you are driving, you may have noticed lately that the quality of the sound coming from your speakers has gone down considerably from when you first started using the stereo. You may have even replaced the speakers to see if it would help but found no improvement. If so, look for the following signs that it may be time to replace your entire car stereo system with a new one

1. You Hear Static Coming Through the Speakers Even After Replacing Them

One sign that your car's sound system has seen better days and needs replacement is when you start hearing static coming through the speakers. Even after replacing the speakers, you may notice the presence of static, especially when you turn the volume up loud.

If you hear the static both before and after replacing the speakers, one of two issues may be present. First, there may be a short in one of the speaker wires that is not allowing for full transfer of sound from the stereo to the speaker. In this case, you may be able to replace the wires to see if this helps. Second, there may be a faulty wire inside of the stereo itself. If this is the case, the stereo will need to be replaced.

2. You Notice Discrepancies in the Sound You Hear and the Settings on the Stereo

Another sign that it is time to replace the stereo in your car is when you start noticing discrepancies in the sound that you hear compared to the settings on the stereo. For example, if you attempt to add more bass or treble to the music, you may not notice any difference in how it sounds even if you turn the settings all the way up. If this is the case, the dials or buttons on the stereo may be worn out and not allowing you to fully change the settings. In this case, the stereo's equalizer is shot, and you would need to replace the entire unit.

If there is constant static coming from the speakers and there are noticeable discrepancies in the settings, it may be time to consider having the system replaced. If you believe that this is the case, speak to a representative at a shop that offers car stereo systems for sale to find out your options for various models and makes to help you select a system that suits your needs and tastes.
